A magyarországi vágóhidakon 21,4 ezer darab szarvasmarhát vágtak le 2023 első negyedévében, 7 százalékkal kevesebbet, mint az előző év azonos időszakában, sertésből 1 millió 93 ezret vágtak, 2 százalékkal kevesebbet (–22 ezer darab), mint 2022. január–márciusban. Baromfiból 51,5 millió darabot vágtak 2023 első negyedévében, 11 százalékkal többet, mint a bázisidőszakban. A levágott baromfi élősúlya összesen 155,6 ezer tonna, vágott súlya (tisztított, bontott súly) 117,2 ezer tonna volt ebben az időszakban
In Hungarian slaughterhouses 21.4 thousand cattle were slaughtered in the first quarter of 2023, which is 7 per cent less than in the same period of the previous year, and 1 million 93 thousand pigs were slaughtered, 2 per cent less (–22 thousand heads) compared to the January–March 2022. In the group of poultry 51.5 million pieces were slaughtered in the first quarter of 2023, 11 per cent more than in the base period. The total live weight of slaughtered poultry was 155,6 thousand tons and the carcass weight was 117,2 thousand tons during this period.
