A magyarországi tógazdaságokban összesen 20 634 tonna halat termeltek 2025-ben, ami 9,7 százalékkal kevesebb, mint az előző évben. A haltermelés túlnyomó része, 80,6 százaléka 2025-ben három régióra koncentrálódott: az Észak-Alföld, a Dél-Dunántúl és a Dél-Alföld. Gazdasági szempontból továbbra is legfontosabb halfajunk a ponty, amely a tógazdasági étkezési célú haltermelésből 84,4 százalékos részesedéssel bírt 2025-ben. A magyar haltermelés döntő hányadát ma is a tógazdaságok adják, amelyek üzemelt területe 26 423 hektár volt 2025-ben. Az intenzív termelési rendszerekben előállított hal mennyisége 3 százalékkal emelkedett az előző évhez képest, és elérte az 5958 tonnát, melyből 4548 tonnát étkezési célra állítottak elő. A halak és halászati termékek kivitelének értéke 2025-ben 10,2 milliárd forint volt, míg az importé 56 milliárd forintot tett ki. A külkereskedelmi mérleg így 45,7 milliárd forintos hiányt mutatott, ami 1,6 milliárd forinttal haladta meg a 2024-es veszteséget.

In 2025, pond farms in Hungary produced a total of 20,634 tonnes of fish, which was 9.7 per cent lower than in the previous year. Most of the fish production, 80.6 per cent, was concentrated in three regions: the Northern Great Plain, the Southern Transdanubia and the Southern Great Plain. Common carp continued to be the most economically important fish species in Hungary, and accounted for 84.4 per cent of fish produced in pond farms for human consumption. Pond farms remained to be the dominant contributors to Hungarian fish production, operating on a total area of 26,423 hectares in 2025. The volume of fish produced in intensive systems increased by 3 per cent compared to the previous year, reaching 5,958 tonnes, of which 4,548 tonnes were intended for human consumption. The export value of fish and fishery products amounted to HUF 10.2 billion in 2025, while imports reached HUF 56 billion. The external foreign trade balance thus showed a deficit of HUF 45.7 billion, which was HUF 1.6 billion higher than the deficit recorded in 2024.
