The kick-off meeting of the two-year long international R&D project “LivestockSense: Enhancing environmental sustainability of livestock farms by removing barriers for adopting ICT technologies” was held online on the 13th of July 2021. The highly successful international event, organized by AKI Institute of Agricultural Economics, was attended by 23 scientists and experts from 9 leading partner organizations, representing a total of 7 countries.
The main objective of the project is to explore the acceptance and applicability of information and communication technology (ICT) tools in animal husbandry. Thus, focus will be less on the tools’ technical performance as on the usefulness of data and information gained by pig and poultry farmers.
During the one-day long event, the partner organizations discussed the project tasks and outlined further opportunity of collaboration.
