Description

The establishment of the Farm Sustainability Data Network (FSDN), pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2023/2574 of the European Parliament and of the Council, requires Member States to adapt the data collection and reporting system currently operated under the Farm Accountancy Data Network (FADN). To support this transition, the European Commission has provided Member States with a lump-sum financial contribution, the rules governing its use being laid down in Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2499.

The objective of the project is to establish a Farm Sustainability Data Network (FSDN) capable of collecting and analysing farm-level sustainability data covering the economic, environmental and social dimensions in order to meet the information needs of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Within this framework, AKI will:

  1. develop its data collection, validation, management and dissemination systems in line with the new FSDN requirements;
  2. examine the use of external data sources and the interoperability of datasets to reduce the administrative burden on data providers;
  3. develop methodologies for preparing feedback reports and benchmarking analyses for agricultural producers; and
  4. organise training programmes and provide continuous mentoring for experts involved in the system to facilitate the transition to the FSDN.
